Xeno Bobby, you tell yourself you’re different than me
Where does the time go
Seems like a day ago I heard you say you’d never leave
A hundred bones
Would pay to see your face when you get home
I bet you thought you could wait to
keep all your stories straight
You know you’re better off alone
Xeno Bobby what did you do
The things you said are coming back to you
Apart from all the regrets you’re
So easy to forget
You’re already a relic too
Wake me on the day
You give a shit what other people say
Remember youth is a time bomb
The longer you hold on the sooner you evaporate
As far as indie albums in the 2010's and beyond go, this is one of the most cohesive and emotive albums I've experienced looking back on it and is Jay Som's best album tokyonoir
Absolutely brilliant, dreamy indie folk-rock. Most of the songs are somewhere between two and three minutes but feel as though they last a lifetime (in a good way). Beautifully heart-wrenching from beginning to end. Kirk Gauthier
The Seoul-based indie pop duo lean deeper into the interplay between dance and emotion on their second album for Beeline Records. Bandcamp Album of the Day Aug 31, 2023
I’ve known of STRFKR since around the time this album was originally released (2012 or 2013, most likely). That said, it’s taken me until now (February 10, 2023) to listen to STRFKR. And allow me to say this is something I somewhat regret. This album reminds me a lot of MGMT’s “Oracular Spectacular” but less polished. There’s an earnestness to these songs that is undeniable, and it’s a helluva lot of fun. If electro rock is your cup of tea, bring an empty cup; STRFKR’s gonna make sure it’s full. Kirk Gauthier
